Dorking figure of eight, 27 January

Total Length 9 miles. Note change of departure time and London station.

On my walkover of the walk advertised in the programme (from Box Hill), I found some of the morning section  extremely hazardous, so I’ve changed it to a figure of eight walk, centred on Dorking. Apart from making the walk safer, and slightly shorter there are more options with trains.

Trains Buy off-peak day return to Dorking. Train departs London Victoria 09.11. Arrives Dorking10.07.(Train stops at Clapham Junction 09.18, Balham 09.23, Epsom 09.52.) There are also less frequent trains to Dorking from Waterloo via Wimbledon.

Lunch Both the morning and afternoon sections are about  2.5  hrs, and lunch will be at Dorking where there are plenty of cafes and pubs to choose from. Mike has booked a table at the Kings Arms.
