Christmas Lunch walk, Barnes Bridge to Kew Bridge, 21 Dec

Meet Barnes Bridge Station 10.14 Suggested train: 9.52 from Waterloo, stops include Vauxhall, Clapham Junction. 

The walk is less than 3 miles and flat apart from steps at the station and bridges. Parts of the towpath may be a little muddy, so suitable footwear required. 

Members who have booked the Christmas Lunch: Venue is the Steam Packet, 85 Strand on the Green,  Chiswick W4 3PU The arrival time is 12pm

Regrettably,  there is a football match at Brentford starting at 3pm. The pub management have apologised in advance for potential affects on their service levels whilst catering for the pre football customers. We have agreed an earlier start time than originally planned and a shorter walk in order to help minimise the issues.

Members not joining the walk can take a later train from Waterloo to Kew Bridge Station. The 11.22  is scheduled to arrive at 11.44. It is a 5 minute walk to the pub, crossing the main road and on the same side of the river down Spring Grove to Strand on the Green.

For those preferring travel via Richmond Station there is a regular 65 bus service to Kew Bridge.

Members who are not joining the Christmas Lunch will find many other options for further walking or other places of interest in the Kew environs, or can return from Kew Bridge station. (Please note the Thames path on the South Bank between Kew and Richmond is closed).
