Loughton Circular
3 June. Peter G introduced us to a new perspective on Epping Forest (his own home territory), in a walk that took us through the meadows skirting the south of the Forest, with views across to the London City skyline, and in and out of the trees. In the afternoon we had a shady downhill walk back to the station.
Waterside …
and meadows – this is the hill up to the view shown in the header picture
Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge, with external wooden beams whitewashed in appropriate Tudor fashion (as Peter explained)
Epping Forest cattle with silent ‘cow bells’ (actually GPS tracking systems: but we miss the sound of cow bells!)
With thanks to Peter G for a fascinating walk so close to London, and to Christine M for photos. Janet
