The Walk
7.5 miles, with an optional loop from Devil’s Dyke. This walk essentially follows the South Downs Way from Ditchling Beacon West. It is relatively flat for the first part, but much hillier from Pyecombe. There is a tricky road crossing and a small part of road walking on a slip road.
Depending on the weather and size of the group we will lunch and comfort stop at Wayfield Farm. Any one wishing to leave the walk would need to get a taxi from here.
We then walk into Pyecombe Village, and pop into the Church before going up and over New Timber Hill to the delightful WildFlower Cafe. We then take a walk into the Valley of the Dyke before arriving at the main car park and bus stop ( shorter option possible). There are numerous paths and viewpoints from the Top at Devil’s Dyke for those who want to explore further. Buses( 77 ) return to Brighton every 45 minutes from outside the Devils Dyke Hotel.
