Richmond to Hampton Court, 26 October

Published by Morley Ramblers on

This is a complete change from the original programme (because of train problems). It will be a lovely, six-mile riverside ramble, starting from Richmond Station.

Meeting Point: 10.00 am outside Richmond Station.

The walk: At Ham House we will cross the River Thames via the ferry, so please remember to bring £2 for the fare (cash or cards).

After stopping for tea/ coffee and walking around Old Twickenham, we will take a short bus journey to Teddington Lock, where we will cross the river again and continue on to Kingston.

Lunch options at Kingston: there’s a pub and cafe in Canbury Park and alsoplenty of seats for a picnic, where you can watch the boats along the river.

After lunch we will cross Kingston Bridge and head for beautiful Home Park.  The walk will finish at Hampton Court Palace.

Trains run half hourly from Hampton Court station to Waterloo.

Drop out points: Twickenham, Teddington and Kingston – all have rail stations and there are frequent buses.

Looking forward to seeing you. Daphne
